It’s nearly December now, and we are back in drought conditions in North Texas. The releases are minimal into the Trinity between Lake Ray Roberts and Lewisville Lake. Unless we get significant precipitation, you can expect subpar conditions for the winter.
If you do venture onto the water – remember temperatures don’t have to be freezing to suffer from hypothermia. It’s still a very dangerous proposition in mild conditions if you take a drink. I try and make it a policy to not go out alone in winter months, and if I am alone, I always wear my PFD. PFD’s are also a good insulator that provide just the right amoutn of warmth for sunny but cool days.
