Here is a very good post by Salsa over at www.texaskayakfisherman.com – http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=142869 . If you are considering kayaking as a means of catching fish, the information available at TKF is priceless.
The racks for kayak hauling are complete. It seems just about the time I get into the swing of welding, I am done. That means I could go out today and run some pretty good beads, but have left some average ones on this project. That’s why God made grinders I guess.
Anyway, we are to the paint on this project, and it turns out it will serve a dual purpose as I deconstruct the Airstream trailer – holding the interior skins when not hauling kayaks around.
I also am thinking about doing another trip for shuttle users – one that puts in at one boat ramp on Ray Roberts Lake and takes out on another – for instance from the boat ramp at Johnson Branch or Jordan Park to Isle du Bois. Currently, it would make for more interesting and cooler (temperature-wise) paddling. It would also give anglers a shot at schooling sand bass at the right times of the year.
