he Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, together with Texas Parks and Wildlife and the City of Denton, is excited to announce Green Fest. This fundraising event will be held from 2 to 8 pm, September 29th at the Greenbelt entrance off Highway 455 by the dam. Please mark your calendars and save the date.
Green Fest will be a fun festival for all ages. We plan for the event to increase awareness of the Greenbelt and raise funds for the Greenbelt Alliance – a non-profit organization. Proceeds will assist with funding the reopening of the equestrian trail between Highways 428 and 455, fund restoration of the Greenbelt restrooms, fund installation of a planned wetland viewing deck and trail if approved by the USACE, and support other projects which enhance the Greenbelt user experience.
We are working to organize fun activities like canoeing, kayaking, pony rides, geo-caching and a climbing wall, among others. The event will also include exhibits, food and live music.
The Greenbelt is a centerpiece of our community. Keeping it vibrant and beautiful benefits our homes, ranches, community and the next generation. Please join us September 29 to show your support, celebrate this unique natural resource, and have fun!
