Temperatures have cooled finally, but there is still no forecast of rain in the two week forecast. The Greenbelt from 380 Park to Lake Lewisville is now non-navigable. Lake Lewisville has receded on the northern reaches – away from Hwy. 380 – several hundred yards.
There are other opportunities to kayak on Lake Ray Roberts proper, and even though the possibility of fun paddling has diminished, you can still experience some amazing adventures along the banks of Ray Roberts.
Every time I have been to Ray Roberts in the last two weeks, I have been joined by whitetail deer within 100 yards of my fishing spot. Young deer come out drink water, get all frisky and run back into the brush. They’re fun to watch. Deer can show up on the shoreline anytime, but are common at sunset.
